My collection of Chinese poems, all written in the 1970s and 1980s, has just come out, published by Otherland Publishing (www.otherlandpublishing.com); I got the copy in hand just now (See the pic). Titled in Chinese《呼的吸》and in English The Breathedings, this book has a total number of 2245 poems, including bilingual Chinese-English poems written as far back as 1982, 37 years ago, some of which have been included in my forthcoming collection of bilingual poems, titled, Flag of Permanent Defeat, published by Puncher & Wattmann. Before it was typeset, it had 1149 pages in a word document. Even after the typesetting, there’s still 776 pages. The majority of the poems remain unpublished because they refuse to be submitted, submissive.
The whole book weighs 1.6 kilos. It’s 21cm wide, 28cm long and 4cm thick. And the first 10 copies in the 10-copy limited edition were all sold out in China as soon as they were printed there.
